In the last few days the youth movement has officially begun! After the offseason that saw Panarin and Pastrnak get traded the Canes went into the season expecting to start a rebuild! They made a few trades through the first few months of the season that saw Fox and McAvoy get traded as well but surprisingly the team continued to win and stay competitive. There have been two trades in the last couple days that officially starts the youth movement! Veteran players Pionk, Krieder and Pelech were traded for Hayton, Doan and Struble! All 3 players under 25 with a lot of potential to have long careers in Carolina! The Canes will continue to try before the deadline to move vets for younger players, but the pieces are in place to have a solid young core that can be built around and have the Canes be competitive for the next few seasons!
